Frequently asked questions

Is this allowed by WhatsApp?
PromotionBot uses the WhatsApp Web multi-device protocol (via Baileys, an open-source library). It works like linking a second browser to your phone. WhatsApp does not officially support automation on personal accounts, so there is a theoretical risk of temporary bans if you send too aggressively. Our built-in cooldown and daily-cap system is designed to keep your sending rate within safe limits.
Will my number get banned?
We have not seen bans with normal promotional use. The bot enforces a 36-hour cooldown per group and configurable daily caps per group category. As long as you are sending to groups you are a member of (not cold-messaging strangers), the risk is very low.
How many groups can I reach?
As many as your WhatsApp account is a member of. Most WhatsApp accounts can join up to 1,024 groups. PromotionBot lets you categorise them (announcements, study, party, etc.) and target by category so you reach the right audience.
Where does my data live?
All data is stored in a SQLite database on our server in the EU. WhatsApp session credentials are stored on disk in the same server. We do not sell or share your data. Message content is only retained as long as needed for scheduling and analytics.
How does billing work?
Billing is not live yet. During our launch period, all features are free. When we introduce billing, early adopters will be locked in at the launch price forever.
